Dave’s Ireland team for the World Cup Qualifiers…

With the Euro’s behind us now, we all tend to put ourselves in the manager’s position.

I have seen so many suggested formations from media people over the past week, so I have decided to join the discussions and throw my two cent’s into the mix.

I agree with those who say that Seamus Coleman is a dish best served at right back, he is quick and loves to get forward, he didn’t get the name ‘Seamus Ramos’ for nothing.

Here would be my team, if shay retires that is:
I think the diamond midfield creates a much more perfect balance as McCarthy would be a defensive holding central midfielder with Hoolahan being the central attacking midfielder providing a central service to Long and Walters.
I think Long and Walters would make a great partnership and both are great in the air. We would also be a very fast counter attacking team.
